She is only 18, but her every step on stage carries the weight of discipline, grace and flawless talent. Olimpia Cărăuleanu, a student at the "Floria Capsali" Choreography High School in Bucharest, lives for dance and through dance. Since the age of six, ballet has become for her not just a passion but a way of understanding the world. Olimpia started practicing ballet at the private school Joy2dance in Constanța, under the guidance of teacher Alexandra Porumboi. Through endless hours of rehearsals, sacrifices and a dedication rarely seen at such a young age, Olimpia has turned a childhood dream into a career on the rise.
With more than 200 national, international and world awards, the young ballerina has managed to take the elegance and precision of Romanian dance to the highest stages of the world. Among her most remarkable distinctions are First Place at the National Choreography Olympiad, both in the classical and contemporary dance sections, as well as First Place at the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) semi-final, one of the most prestigious ballet competitions in the world, which also qualified her for the world final. In the United States, in Tampa, Olimpia became the only Romanian woman to win a medal in the senior category, taking third place and winning the applause of a jury of international dance legends.
Olimpia Cărăuleanu was the only Romanian ballerina admitted to the prestigious The Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia, USA - one of the most renowned ballet schools in the world, receiving a full scholarship paid by the school - a recognition of her excellence and artistic potential. Over the years, Olimpia Cărăuleanu has participated in numerous competitions and workshops alongside some of the world's ballet greats, each experience helping to refine her technique and define her own artistic expressiveness. One of the moments that profoundly marked her development was her performance as soloist in "The Nutcracker" on the Philadelphia stage - a memorable appearance that confirmed her place among the young talents of international dance. She has also excelled in performances such as "The Wizard of Oz" as Dorothy and "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas", as well as on the stages of the most prestigious events of the genre, such as the Nervi Festival Gala and the Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow Gala, where the future of world ballet meets the present of excellence.
Thanks to her outstanding performances and her ambition to represent Romania on the world's great stages, Olimpia Cărăuleanu was enrolled in the "100 Youngsters for Romania's Development" campaign, 2025 edition, organized at national level by The Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania - a platform dedicated to young people who change the future through talent, hard work and vision.
