Dr. Maria Blasco is one of the world's most influential figures in research into the biological processes of aging. Former director of the Spanish National Center for Oncology Research (CNIO) from 2011 to 2025, and leader of the Telomeres and Telomerase Research Group, her work has revolutionized the understanding of the role of telomeres and telomerase in tissue regeneration, aging, and cancer prevention.
