Ionica Nedelcu is a former competitive rower and an ambassador for the "Born for Sport" project. Despite the lack of a gymnasium at Secondary School 112, Ionica Nedelcu was able to overcome this challenge. A significant proportion of her pupils have subsequently become accomplished athletes, representing renowned sports clubs and achieving notable success.

She has initiated and participated in a number of projects, including "Athletics in schools", "Kinesis for social integration" and "Today I'm your sports teacher!", which have been designed to promote physical activity and encourage social inclusion.
