Donation of 700 books for the Bucharest Metropolitan Library

The people of Bucharest who love reading have received generous support. The Bucharest Metropolitan Library is now richer with over 700 new volumes. The books arrived on the shelves of the Metropolitan Library in Bucharest through a donation and are now waiting for readers to discover their value and usefulness.

"Imagination and creativity are skills that today's children, tomorrow's future adults, need to develop. We are helping them to develop these skills and this can happen through reading. There is no child who doesn't like to read. There are only children who have not discovered the right kind of books. And our role, that of the Bucharest Metropolitan Library, being a public library, is to help those who cross our threshold to discover what book suits them", she concluded.

From now on, the book heritage of the Bucharest Metropolitan Library is even richer. Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania has donated over 700 books. These will be read and appreciated by the inhabitants of the capital.

"The Foundation has always supported education and culture through various actions. By giving a book, you can make a person happy, you can open a path. Through this donation we want to encourage reading, we want to support the activity of the Bucharest Metropolitan Library, it is an activity aimed at highlighting the importance of books and reading in personal and professional development, to narrow the path of the book to the hand and heart of the reader", said Laura Stancu, FDVDR Project Manager.

These include books in the fields of philosophy, historical literature, aesthetics, fine arts, literary criticism and fiction. The books will reach all 30 branches of the Metropolitan Library in the capital.

"I would like to thank the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania, for the 700 volumes awarded today at the Metropolitan Library of Bucharest. They will reach all our branches, which are located throughout the capital. Of course, they will be used for borrowing, at home, but, above all, they will be used in the cultural educational activities we are running this summer", said Ramona Mezei, Director General, Bucharest Metropolitan Library.
