Interest in early education excellence is reaching record levels this year - hundreds of pre-schools across the country have already signed up for the 2026 edition of the Preschool Olympiads national campaign. The initiative, launched and run by the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania, is aimed at children aged 3 to 6 years old, in state and private kindergartens, with the aim of discovering and encouraging early talent.

Perioada de înscriere este în plină desfășurare și continuă până pe data de  8 mai, participarea fiind complet gratuită prin completarea formularului disponibil pe site-ul oficial al fundației.

The need for such cognitive assessment and stimulation programs is supported by modern neuroscience, which shows that about 90% of human brain development takes place in the first five years of life. Within this window of opportunity, logic games, concentration challenges and reasoning exercises are not mere recreational activities, but pillars that anticipate the academic success and adaptability of the future adult. The Preschool Olympiads campaign is a platform through which every child's native potential can be identified early and properly harnessed.

The campaign's running mechanism is accessible and child-friendly, turning the evaluation into a positive experience. The testing activities take place directly in the familiar environment of the participating kindergartens, using worksheets submitted electronically by the organizers. Over approximately 30 minutes, children solve interactive exercises adapted to each age group, designed to test their attention, logic and problem-solving skills. To guarantee transparency and fairness, each session is monitored online by a representative of the foundation, ensuring a uniform national standard of assessment.

The schedule for the 2026 edition is dynamic, with testing running in parallel with registration until May 15. Then, between 18 and 28 May, all entries will go through an evaluation process, reviewed by a multidisciplinary jury made up of early education specialists, including teachers, psychologists and educators.

Final results will be announced on May 29, when all children's efforts will be rewarded with participation diplomas, while the top-scoring pre-schoolers will receive excellence diplomas.

The initiative, which is part of the calendar of municipal educational activities of the Municipality of Bucharest, also recognizes the merit of the coordinating teachers, who receive certificates attesting their involvement in shaping future generations. Kindergartens that want to give children the chance to discover their cognitive superpowers are invited to join this national campaign, with registration just a click away.
