Bogdan Bora, a ninth-grade student at the Emil Racoviță National College in Cluj-Napoca, doesn't just dream about change, he makes it happen through science, technology, and innovation. The young man has attracted the attention of the international scientific community with a unique project: an experimental station capable of analyzing atmospheric activities and the electromagnetic field—an important step toward a deeper understanding of the environment in which we live. In addition, Bogdan has collaborated with students from MIT in the US to create a mini satellite that monitors cosmic radiation, which is set to be implemented.

As a result of his achievements in education and innovation, Bogdan was included in the national campaign "100 Youngsters for Romania's Development," run by the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania—an initiative that recognizes and supports young minds who can contribute significantly to the transformation of Romanian society.

At just 15 years old, Bogdan created an ambitious project with applications in key areas such as environmental monitoring, sustainability, and IoT technologies. His innovation earned him the status of the youngest Romanian finalist in the prestigious ISEF (International Science and Engineering Fair) 2025 competition in the United States, where his project was praised by experts from world-renowned universities such as MIT, Yale, and Imperial College London. Recently, the young inventor won the YOUNG INVENTOR AWARD at the ENNOVATE invention fair in Poland.

In just two years, Bogdan represented Romania in over 20 international research and invention competitions. During this period, Bogdan competed with students and PhD students from over 80 countries and managed to bring home numerous gold medals and special awards. Among the most important are:

  • In 2024: gold medal in Canada at the iCAN exhibition, 9th edition; gold medal at the ISIF invention exhibition in Turkey;
  • Gold medal and grand prize at the Young Researcher competition (Chisinau, 6th edition);
  • Gold medal and special prize at ISSEER – International Social, Science, Engineering and Education Romanian Competition (Romania);
  • Gold medal at INTVENTCOR 2023 – International Exhibition of Inventions, with the project Experimental Device for Monitoring Climatogenic Parameters and the Electromagnetic Field; OML Multi-Gaussian Model (Romania);
  • Gold Medal at the International Research and Innovation Fair for Students (Indonesia) 2023.

Bogdan Bora is not only a young innovator, but also an active promoter of scientific education in the community. He is a member of the Magic Sciences Cluster and the Cluj County Center for Excellence.

"I believe that Romania's future depends on courageous young people who turn ideas into solutions and research into real impact. I want to contribute to the development of a society based on innovation, quality education, and international collaboration," says young Bogdan Bora.

With a brilliant mind and a clear vision of the future, Bogdan Bora doesn't just dream of a better Romania, he's building it, with every idea, every project, and every medal he wins.
