The national School of the Future competition brought together hundreds of innovative, original and creative projects using cutting-edge technologies. Thousands of talented students from across the country imagined what a lesson in a school of the future would look like, and used a variety of tools to turn their ideas into unique materials. Young people took the national School of the Future competition as a challenge and came up with ideas that will hopefully be implemented in Romania as soon as possible.
The winners of the national "School of the Future" competition are the students of the "Dinu Lipatti" high school in Pitești. However, due to the large number of outstanding projects that deserve public attention, we will also offer a special prize. Therefore, the jury of the national contest "School of the Future" has selected 3 other innovative projects and has decided to offer the special prize to the winner who will conquer the public. We invite you to watch the project video and vote for one of the 3 teams below:
MC Production Team, from "Mircea Cristea" Technical College Brasov
Team members: Beatrice Oprea, Cristian Botezatu, Delia Fedor, Despina Diakouraki, Rebeca Comănac, Remus Gradea, Teodor Spaciu, Victor Taină, Vlad Hătiș, Vlad Rîndașu.
The team's project was based on the transformative potential of holograms and 3D projections in the media. According to them, virtual reality can stimulate young people's creativity, help them explore new ways of expressing themselves, gain valuable insights into the media industry and access new media tools such as VR equipment.
Robodac Team, from "Dacia" Technological High School Pitești
Team members: Irina Lăzarescu, Alin Ionuț Nedelea, Gabriela Ghighilă, Andreea Dobre
The team members presented themselves as architects of a school of the future, creating a special, complex, futuristic design model. They presented an advanced educational environment adapted to the needs and technologies of the future. The model is detailed and shows an entire campus where students in the 'school of the future' will study and do complementary activities for their development. The model is made from recyclable materials and the future is about sustainability and innovation. Team members focused on the complex thinking of young people in the future, in a star system or networked system, where emotion and interpersonal connection are central to this advanced educational environment, contributing to academic productivity. Students are thus an integral part of an interconnected and stimulating educational network. Students of the future need to graphically monitor their progress, direction and personal growth plan. In the "School of the Future" presented by the Robodac team, students have long since forgotten notebooks and textbooks, replaced by a digital library, VR glasses, tablets and educational gadgets. Here too, they can choose what they want to learn, and learning takes place in teams, with students taking on social and cognitive roles such as 'time manager', working together to achieve common goals.
Team Fantastik, from "Avram Iancu" Secondary School, Bistrita
Team members: Mara Celeste Rus, Paula Maria Turdean, Ilie Alexandru Turdean, Darius-Cornel Candale, Bianca-Maria Ciobanu, Daria-Maria Timiș-Varga, Raluca Ioana Moldovan, Andreea Maria Suciu, Miruna-Anda Moldovan, Mario Ion Nechita
The project shows a day in the life of the pupils at school, where they learn German and where there is an element of surprise: "In a school of the future, I am greeted by a robot. I choose a name for my new teacher, who welcomes me in German! Today we are going to learn how to find our way in the city. The little robot I have named "Robi" illustrates simple structures on the screen to help me find my way around an unfamiliar city. "Robi" helps them to teleport to the Berlin Wall, an attraction they have been studying about, through VR goggles, using simple structured information in a youth-friendly way, and then gives them the coordinates to get back home.
We would like to thank everyone who took part and contributed to the success of this competition. Each entry was a testament to the imagination of our students and reinforces our belief that the future of education is full of innovation!
