Romania is no longer just a destination on the map. It becomes a digital and interactive experience. Two young people from Suceava, Alexandru Tocilă and Matei Vasilean, students at the "Ștefan cel Mare" University of Suceava, have turned their love for the country's authentic places into a project that promises to change the way tourists and Romanians discover their national heritage: the "Romania, Cultural Hub" app. For the idea and the impact of this project, the two students were included in the campaign "100 Youngsters for Romania's Development", 2025 edition, run at national level by the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania."

The idea was born out of a real need: Romania has extraordinary cultural, historical and natural treasures, but many of them remain invisible in global digital tourism. Alexandru, a master's student in Business Management in Commerce, Tourism and Services, and Matei, a student of Computer Science and Information Technology, have combined their economic vision with technical know-how in a product that brings together tradition with innovation, information with emotion and exploration with technology.

"Through "Romania, Cultural Hub" we aim to educate, inspire and restore the pride of discovering Romania. For us, this project is not just an app, but a cultural mission, a way to give back to the country a part of the identity that defines us", say the two young people.

The app works like a smart digital guide to Romania. Users can discover cultural, historical and natural sights, read local stories, explore interactive maps and create personalized routes. Basically, every journey becomes an adventure guided by technology but experienced through discovery. But it's not just for tourists. Students, teachers, researchers, locals or foreigners passionate about Romanian culture can use the app as an educational and documentation tool.

The project is currently in an intense development phase. In the upcoming period, the app will be launched on the main mobile platforms and the team is already working on integrating audio guides and opening direct collaborations with local communities. Moreover, "Romania, Cultural Hub" will become a collective platform, supported by a national network of teachers, students, guides, volunteers and photographers, who will actively contribute to documenting each county of the country.

In the long term, the objective is clear and ambitious: to transform the "Romania, Cultural Hub" app into the most important digital cultural promotion platform in Romania - a space where heritage meets innovation and national identity is promoted through technology.

The story of the two students from Suceava is about a generation that no longer waits for change, but builds it. About young people who turn maps into stories, roads into experiences and Romania into a digital cultural hub, open to the world.
