The end of the year is always a time when we all look back and recognise each other's remarkable achievements. The mission of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania for 30 years has been based on two important pillars: supporting excellence and training intelligence.
As a promoter of excellence in education and personal development, the Foundation aims to continue to support and promote its graduates. The end of the year is a perfect time to celebrate achievements and reflect on the remarkable contribution these young people make to society. Over three decades, thousands of pupils and students have graduated from the Foundation's free programmes and gone on to achieve outstanding results. One such inspirational example is Olivia Miheț, a graduate of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania, who is now continuing her academic journey at the MTU Cork School of Music in Ireland, where she is exploring new cultural horizons. The university courses offer her opportunities for personal and professional growth, preparing her to face challenges and to actively contribute to society. At the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania, Olivia has taken courses in painting, singing and personal development.
"All 3 courses have contributed significantly to my formation: through art I learned to go beyond my limits, to think outside human logic and embrace the beauty that lies in the abstract, and from the personal development lessons I learned who I am. Psychological tests made me identify my strengths and weaknesses. Interestingly, I took a test at the end that said what career would be right for me, and this summer I revisited that test. Guess what! The career that fits me, being first on the list, is Composer. I took my first singing lessons in the singing course and haven't stopped since, and today singing teacher, singer and music writer are my professions alongside studying," Olivia says enthusiastically.
Recently, Olivia Miheț added a new achievement to her record, releasing her first song "Keep My Christmas Warm". With an emotional voice and remarkable musical talent, Olivia has managed to convey part of her unique and inspiring story through music.
"„Everything I have done within the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania is reflected in me today. I could say that it was the place where I grew up artistically from the age of 13 until the age of 19. Here I built friendships and acquired new skills", says Olivia Miheț.
Olivia Miheț developed her skills and gained solid knowledge in her field of interest thanks to the educational programmes offered by the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania, which provided Olivia with the resources and guidance she needed to carve her path to success.
"However, my involvement with the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania did not stop at the end of each course. I supported every event: I did face painting or supported artistic moments. I was also keen to take part in musical competitions because I loved being on stage even then. Not much has changed since then. I still paint today. I discovered that painting and music go together for me. When I put colour on paper I am inspired to compose. They all go together and more than ever I can say that I am on the right path and God shows me that every day," says Olivia.
The Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania offers continuous support to its graduates, facilitating connections, providing a platform for promotion and supporting their creative projects. Olivia Miheț is just one of the many talented young people who benefit from the continued support of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania and who, through their efforts and achievements, inspire future generations to reach new heights of excellence.
