The Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania is running the "Form teacher's class" project, part of the national anti-drug campaign "Aware, not addicted", which aims to shape a generation capable of saying "no" to harmful temptations and pressures.

At the Romanian-Finnish High School in Bucharest, students turned Form teacher's class into a laboratory of honesty. Under the coordination of teacher Alina Dumitrache, the project "Let's talk for real" challenged teenagers to talk openly about the phenomenon of drugs, the causes that lead to addiction and the real solutions that can consciously choose the right path.

They were joined by the psychologist Gabriela Maalouf, a collaborator of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania, which talked to young people about the mechanisms through which social pressure, anxiety or the desire to belong can push a teenager to wrong decisions. "Prevention is not just about information, it's about connection. Children need to feel that they can talk, that they are listened to and that they have support," she said.

Form teacher's class thus became a different experience: students took part in role-plays, interactive discussions and exercises where they learned to identify risky situations and communicate more clearly about their emotions. They learned that the power to say "no" comes from knowing oneself and trusting that they can choose otherwise.

The "Aware, not addicted" campaign is not just a lesson about dangers, but a national initiative for emotional and social education. Teachers are encouraged to develop creative activities and the best ideas become examples of good practice, implemented in schools across Romania.

"Form teacher's class" is a modern form of preventive education that brings students and teachers closer together. Instead of moralizing speeches, young people find a safe space where they can talk freely about their challenges and learn, step by step, how to be Aware, not addicted.
