In an educational landscape where performance is frequently measured in figures and reports, the Dan Voiculesulescu Foundation for the Development of Romania proposes an initiative that emphasises the authentic, human relationship between student and teacher. The "Out of Love for Teachers" initiative, which is scheduled to run from 15 April to 31 May, forms part of the national campaign entitled "Exceptional Teachers League", which is a comprehensive public recognition of teachers who have a profound impact on shaping destinies through education.
By means of this initiative, each nominated educator – whether an educator, teacher, secondary school, high school, special education or university teacher – will receive an honorary diploma and a message of appreciation from the student, former student or parent who has enrolled them in the Exceptional Teachers League campaign. This gesture is intended to convey a profound sense of gratitude to those who, in addition to imparting knowledge, have instilled confidence, courage, and a profound sense of purpose.
The Foundation extends an invitation to all those who have been influenced by a teacher, be it as a child, a teenager or a parent, to pay tribute to the individual who has had a significant impact on their life through a gesture, a word or a simple presence. It is important to acknowledge that the foundation of many a successful adult can be traced back to a teacher who had the capacity to instil confidence and belief in their students. At the conclusion of the application phase in June, the 20 teachers who will be selected to participate in the 2025 edition of the Exceptional Teachers League will be announced. The top three finishers will be awarded financial prizes of RON 30,000, RON 20,000 and RON 10,000, respectively. In addition to these tangible benefits, all finalists will have access to a range of educational resources and training opportunities, designed to support and enhance their excellence in the field of education.
