The Dan Voiculesulescu Foundation for the Development of Romania is kicking off the 2026 edition of the national campaign "Preschool Olympiads", an educational initiative dedicated to the youngest learners, but with a major impact on their future development. The project aims to bring to the forefront the importance of early education and to provide an organized framework in which children can demonstrate and develop their skills.
"Preschool Olympiads" are aimed at children aged 3 to 6, enrolled in state or private kindergartens in Romania, and are a valuable opportunity for teachers to identify and support the potential of each child. At this crucial stage of development, stimulating logical thinking, attention and concentration significantly contribute to the formation of solid skills for the future.
The 2026 edition runs from March 16 to May 29 and includes several clearly structured stages. Registration runs from March 16 to May 8, followed by the testing period, scheduled from March 30 to May 15. The assessment of the papers will take place from May 18 to 28, and the final results will be announced on May 29.
An important aspect is the way of organization , accessible and adapted to the educational environment. The tests are held within the participating kindergartens themselves, in an environment familiar to the children, which helps to reduce emotions and produce relevant results. The competition sheets are provided by the organizers in electronic format and contain exercises specially designed to assess logic, attention and task-solving skills.
The activity lasts about 30 minutes and is monitored online by a representative of the foundation, ensuring transparency and fairness. Afterwards, the works are evaluated by a jury, composed of specialists in initial education: teacher, psychologist and educator; who analyze the children's performance with professionalism and objectivity.
Participation in the competition is free of charge and registration is done by a representative of the educational institution by filling in the form available on the official website of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania. In order to finalize the process, the details of the institution, contact information, the number of children enrolled by age category, parental agreements and the nominal list of participants are required.
The benefits of participation are significant for both children and teachers. All participants receive certificates of participation and children who score the highest points are rewarded with certificates of excellence. At the same time, the coordinating educators receive certificates attesting to their involvement in this educational approach.
The national campaign "Preschool Olympiads" is part of the calendar of municipal educational activities (CAEM) of Bucharest.
