17:05 Madlen Șerban, Secretary General of the Romanian National Commission for UNESCO

Topic: "Romanian Heritage in UNESCO. Let's know it and preserve it"

Ms Madlen Șerban is an associate professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Bucharest, she was for 8 years the Director of ETF, the European Union agency for human capital development. Before joining ETF, he was director of the National Centre for Vocational and Technical Education in Romania.

Theme: "Culture of Lifelong Learning"

Alexandra Dobre is a lawyer, graduated with an MBA at the UNESCO Chair - University of Bucharest, coordinated for 2 years the Cultural Centre for UNESCO Nicolae Balcescu in Bucharest.

She was the initiator and coordinator of several programs of national interest, including the "Romanian Cultural Roots" Program, developed in partnership with FDVDR.

Felix Marcu, Manager of the National History Museum of Transylvania

Topic: Frontiers of the Roman Empire in UNESCO: Dacia"

Felix Marcu is an expert archaeologist specialized also in non-invasive research of archaeological sites and historical monuments. He coordinates the National Programme Limes: Frontiers of the Roman Empire, which is the scientific forum for coordination and control of research projects, necessary for the documentation for the classification as a historical monument and for the monitoring of the management strategy of the Limes, in view of the inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List of immovable cultural heritage sites that formed the frontier of the Roman Empire on the territory of Romania.

 

17:50 – 18:05 Adriana Scripcariu, art historian, Co-Director of the Piscu School

Topic: "How to create educational resources concerning the UNESCO World Heritage in Romania"

Adriana Scripcariu is a well-known name in the Romanian educational community when it comes to UNESCO World Heritage in Romania. She writes textbooks on cultural heritage, produces educational video materials (The Heritage Lesson) and is co-founder of the Museum-Workshop School of Piscu, a former potters' village near Bucharest.

She transformed a village, once famous for pottery and 40 km from Bucharest, into a Cultural Village of Romania. With her new project, the Museum-Workshop School of Piscu, Adriana, together with her husband, is one of the winners of the Europa Nostra 2022 award.

Closing message

În februarie 2022, Oana Zaharia a început să lucreze ca Director General la Institutul Național al Patrimoniului din România. Ea a absolvit Universitatea Româno-Americană din București cu o diplomă în Economie, specializarea Informatică managerială.

From 2017 to 2020, she worked as General Director of the Administration of Monuments and Tourist Heritage of Bucharest. During her tenure, she protected, preserved and restored almost 300 statues in the administration. Moreover, she has placed particular importance on the promotion of cultural heritage and heritage education, through impactful national and international programmes and projects. She later served as President of the Constanta County Council, cultural staff advisor to the Constanta County Council.

He is currently a PhD student at the University of Arts Bucharest. Starting in September 2021, she is working on the topic "Restoration of historical sites in Dobrogea between 1950 and 1977" started under the supervision of the Vice-President of the Romanian Academy, Acad. Razvan Theodorescu and taken over by Prof. Victor Neuman.
