"Eminescu, the builder of the Romanian language" is a theater performance with an original script, which reconstructs, through verses, biographical fragments and live music, the defining stages in the life and creation of Mihai Eminescu. The cast includes established actors of the Romanian stage, including Marius Bodochi, soprano Miruna Ionescu, baritone Marius Nine, violinist Valentin Albeșteanu and pianist Valentin Cucu. The production is directed by Ruxandrei Bălașu, who has created a balanced staging between theater, poetry and recital, in an artistic language accessible to audiences of all ages.
The event is part of the series of cultural projects through which the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania promotes identity values, cultural education and authentic role models for young people. The performance offers an opportunity to discover Eminescu's work outside the textbooks, in a lively and up-to-date scenic form.
"Eminescu was the author who gave the Romanian language the strength and form through which we can express modern thought today. We want this show to remind us of where we come from and how important it is to keep in touch with the language and culture that define us", said the representatives of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania.
National Culture Day, celebrated every year on January 15, marks the birth of Mihai Eminescu and is an opportunity to reflect on the Romanian cultural heritage. In this context, the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania reaffirms the role of education and culture as essential pillars of the development of a modern society.
