The Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania has launched the first edition of the "Personalities of the Year in Romania" album, an editorial project dedicated to those who, through their activity and performance, are an example of responsibility, excellence and national spirit.
The album brings together a hundred Romanians who have turned ideas into projects, projects into results and results into benchmarks for society as a whole. They come from a variety of fields - economics, science, culture, education, art, sport, diplomacy or public administration - and illustrate the real potential of a Romania that grows through people.
The selection was based on five key criteria: economic impact, contribution to the country's development, promotion of Romania internationally, innovation and vision, as well as the level of trust and appreciation in the community. Among those honored are entrepreneurs who have built industries, researchers who innovate globally, teachers and opinion-formers who inspire generations, athletes who carry the Romanian flag on the highest podiums, artists who promote Romanian culture worldwide and civil society representatives who bring change through action.
Through this initiative, the Foundation aims to create an annual platform for public recognition of genuine value and to contribute to the consolidation of a culture of merit. The "Romanian Personalities of the Year" album will be published in a bilingual Romanian-English format, so that it can also be used in foreign relations and official visits, becoming a tool to promote Romania's potential.
The project is a natural continuation of the mission of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania to identify, support and promote excellence in all its forms. Through education, research, innovation and culture, Romania has the resources to position itself among the countries that capitalize on its people as the main development capital.
The album does not create hierarchies or rankings, but gives an overview of contemporary Romanian performance. Each of the 100 individuals included in the album contributes, through their profession and example, to a more visible, credible and respected Romania.
The Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania aims for this publication to become an annual landmark, a symbol of gratitude to those who, through hard work, intelligence and courage, build a better country every day.
