Christmas that brings communities together: the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania brought gifts and hope to Cocorăștii Grind

Christmas sparkled again in Cocorăștii Grind, where emotion, faith and solidarity met under the dome of the Holy Trinity Church. Dozens of children and young people, together with parents and grandparents, filled the church for a special holiday concert, turning the evening into a moment of genuine communion, where carols became bridges between generations.

The event, which has already become a tradition for the community, was coordinated by the parish priest Ioan Vrăjitoru, who managed to bring together the whole locality around the essential values of Christmas: faith, care for others and the joy of being together. "Every year we enjoy this beautiful moment in our community. For many of the children who sing carols to us, the gift is sometimes the only joy of Christmas", he said, emphasizing the importance of support for those in need.

For the little ones, the highlight of the evening was meeting Santa Claus - an appearance that brought smiles, excitement and bright eager eyes. The children sang, told stories and fully experienced the magic of the holiday, in an atmosphere they described as "full of energy, beautiful feelings and happiness".

In this emotion-filled setting, the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania was, this year again, close to the community of Cocorăștii Grind, offering over 100 gifts to the children of the church choir, many of them from families in difficult situations. The sweets, toys and surprises were not just material gifts, but concrete signs of care and attention.

"We are, as always, standing by this wonderful community. Today we were Santa Claus' helpers and we wanted, from the bottom of our hearts, to bring joy to the children", said Diana Marin, project manager of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania.

The present mothers spoke, in their turn, about the joy of seeing their children involved, singing together and feeling appreciated. "It is a very nice event that we have been participating in for years. The children enjoy it and us, as adults, enjoy it with them", said one of the participants.

Now a tradition, the presence of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania at Cocorăștii Grind shows that the Christmas spirit is not limited to a single day, but is built over time, through simple but profound gestures. And on the evening of carols, each gift meant more than just an object: it was a promise of hope and a clear message that no one is alone on the eve of the holiday.
