Flavia Dumitrașcu - Champion of champions at the International Mental Mathematics Championship, in the "100 Youngsters for Romania's Development" campaign. The story of a child who calculates her future with the precision of a champion

At just 10 years old, Flavia Dumitrașcu is one of those children that transforms talent into international level performance. A pupil of "B. P. Hașdeu" Secondary School no. 22, Iași, Flavia is one of those rare children who manage to harmoniously combine academic excellence, sport, art and international competition.

Recently, Flavia climbed to the top of the podium at the International Mental Mathematics Championship - Horus 10, edition 2025, an elite competition that brought together hundreds of talented children from all over the world, held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. In a limited time and under immense pressure, Flavia solved 200 complex calculations - multiplication, division and addition by tens and hundreds - with remarkable speed and accuracy. The result: the ultimate title - Champion of Champions. For her exceptional results, Flavia Dumitrașcu was enrolled in the national campaign "100 Youngsters for Romania's Development", 2025 edition, run by the Dan Voiculesulescu Foundation for the Development of Romania - an initiative that recognizes and promotes children and young people who give meaning to the future of this country through hard work, intelligence and character.

However, this is not a unique performance. Flavia achieved the same title of Champion of Champions at the Horus 2024 International Championships, Barcelona, confirming that her excellence is not by chance, but the result of a solid and steady path. In 2024 and 2025, she occupied top places at Olympiads and competitions held in Bucharest and Brașov, and at the Smarty Center she conquered the most prestigious titles available in her categories, both nationally and internationally.

Beyond numbers and medals, Flavia impresses with a balanced educational profile. She is passionate about reading and is involved in extracurricular activities: dance, chess and sport, currently playing volleyball. In previous years she studied ballet, piano, gymnastics and swimming - experiences that not only built her intellectual performance but also her resilience, coordination and self-control.

Behind these successes are endless hours of training, concentration, sacrifices and a determination rarely seen at such a young age. A key role is also played by teacher Maria Juncu, the mentor who has guided her step by step, with professionalism and dedication, on the road to excellence. Flavia's performance is also proof of the value of education built on a genuine relationship between pupil and teacher.

Flavia Dumitrașcu is not just a mental math genius. She's living proof that Romania has champions who train patiently and calculate their dreams with the precision of those who know that hard work, not luck, leads to victory.
