Premiere: On Monday, October 27, starting at 19:00, on the YouTube channel of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania, the public will be able to watch an interview-event with the President of the Romanian Academy, Ioan-Aurel Pop - a dialogue about the direction Romania needs to follow in order to build its future by 2050. The interview opens a series of key meetings within the campaign "Country Project - Romania 2050", run at national level by the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania.
In the interview, Academician Ioan-Aurel Pop draws attention to an uncomfortable reality: "We did not have a real strategic plan, but it is not too late to make one." It is, he says, time for Romania to define a clear direction and a long-term vision based on genuine values and national coherence, and this opportunity is provided by the national campaign "Country Project - Romania 2050".
Asked what should be the fundamental principle of the next 25 years, the President of the Romanian Academy gives an answer that could become the motto of an entire generation:
„I think if I had to sum it all up in one word, it would be dignity. We sometimes lack dignity in our way of being - not pride, not ego, we lack dignity.”
Academician Ioan-Aurel Pop also talks about the urgent need for moral and intellectual landmarks, education being the key to any authentic project for a country:
„Romania suffers from a lack of role models and a lack of confidence that generates hope. Education must shape characters, not just transmit information.”
The Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania aims to bring to the public's attention the essential themes of national construction: strategic vision, social cohesion, responsibility and dignity - values that can transform Romania into a prosperous and balanced society.
The premiere of the interview will take place on Monday, October 27, at 19:00, on the YouTube channel of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania.
Young people who want to make their voice heard and contribute to shaping Romania's future can apply for the national strategic vision contest "Country Project - Romania 2050", organized by the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania. The competition challenges participants to propose concrete and sustainable solutions for the country's development over the next 25 years, in areas such as education, economy, technology or environment. The best projects will be rewarded and promoted at national level, giving young people the chance to become part of the generation that will shape tomorrow's Romania.
