Romania becomes, once again, ground zero for the passion for technology, innovation and artificial intelligence. From October 31 to November 2, 2025, the campus of the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest hosts ROBOFEST 2025, Europe's largest robotics event, an international festival of engineering and creativity. Now in its 4th edition, ROBOFEST 2025 brings together over 1,200 participants from 30 countries: teams of young engineers, mentors, researchers and enthusiasts who see technology not just as a field of study, but as a force that will shape the world of tomorrow.<\/p>\n
The centerpiece of the festival is ROBOCHALLENGE, the world-class competition considered one of the most dynamic and spectacular robotics competitions in Europe. There are hundreds of teams competing and almost 1200 robots, built in elite universities, high-performing high schools and research labs around the world. For three days, Bucharest becomes the robotics capital of the world and participants will test their creations in over 20 spectacular challenges, from sumo-style fights between autonomous robots to speed races, navigating complex mazes, demonstrations of mechanical strength, algorithmic agility and displays of the most advanced humanoid systems.<\/p>\n
In 2025, The Scientific Senate of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania becomes a partner of the event and will award the Excellence Award for Innovation in Technology in the Freestyle Showcase - an open section for creative projects, from educational robots to inventions with industrial applications. Here, participants are free to propose projects with no format or application limitations: educational robots, biomedical devices, autonomous solutions for industry or experimental projects with research potential.<\/p>\n
In addition to the competitions themselves, ROBOFEST 2025 also includes a large exhibition platform where technology companies, innovative startups, university labs and research institutions will showcase advanced equipment, robot arms in action, autonomous systems, artificial intelligence applications and solutions for education and industry. The general public will have access to demonstrations, experiments and interactive sessions, giving children and young people the opportunity to touch, test and understand technology up close.<\/p>\n
The involvement of The Scientific Senate of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania in this project strengthens the country's long-term development direction, supporting the generations that not only understand technology, but create it.
