On a national holiday, dozens of Olympic students from Bucharest and members of the Super Smart Team (the first team of gifted children and youngsters in Romania) gathered to mark the 165th anniversary of the Union of the Romanian Principalities. The event \"Following Cuza's footsteps in Bucharest\", organised by Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania, gave young people the opportunity to explore, to better understand the key moments of national history and to encourage the intellectual development of young people. The students were accompanied by teachers and parents involved in extracurricular activities.<\/p>\n
The historical tour was guided by the distinguished historian Tudor Vi\u0219an-Miu, a personality known for his passion and expertise in Romanian history. Participants had the opportunity to explore the most significant places steeped in history in Bucharest. The important landmark was the Patriarchal Palace, a symbol of spiritual and cultural power. Students were taken on a journey back in time, giving them a real insight into the link between past and present. Moreover, they had the opportunity to better understand the events that led to the Unification of the United Principalities and to connect to the legacy left by the ruler Cuza.<\/p>\n
Another moment of the historical tour \"Following Cuza's footsteps in Bucharest\" was the visit to the statue of the ruler Alexandru Ioan Cuza. Students were encouraged to reflect on the importance of this leader in the process of unification of the Romanian Principalities and the lasting impact he had on the evolution of Romanian society.<\/p>\n
In addition to the educational aspect, the event organised by Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania also provided an opportunity for students to connect with each other and share their passion for history. The dialogues and exchanges of ideas helped to strengthen a community where learning and knowledge are valued.<\/p>\n
