Erik Ciotlăuș, Ioana-Daiana Drânda, Dan-Ioan Mustea, Irina Șușca, Alesia Voina, Zágoni Mátyás-Elemér are the young people who created the first complex tech system, Vital Alert, for hospitals and nurses to receive alerts from patients. This revolutionary medical alert system, which could save patients' lives, is unique in Romania. The young inventors have been entered in the "100 Youngsters for Romania's Development" campaign.
The system, which aims to be revolutionary, will allow nurses to quickly receive alerts from patients in wards whose health has suddenly deteriorated.
Miruna Brînzei has mentored the young people, supporting them in creating the revolutionary system.
"It was a unique experience and I learned a lot from them. Not only they learned from me, but I learned from them. We learned the steps, we managed to make a pretty good prototype, but there is still work to be done. So there is still room for progress. It was the first time I was mentored and this will have a special place for me in my career," said Miruna Brînzei, mentor.
The system consists of three components: a smart clock for nurses to receive alerts from patients, a patient dashboard where patients can alert nurses in real time about their needs, and a dashboard that allows nurses to monitor the status of each room under their care.
I was more interested in the IT part, but throughout the academy I attended several workshops where we were introduced to several topics and I managed to learn and grow a lot during them," said Irina Shusca, a member of the Vital Alert team.
The system was created by the young people in just 6 months.
"It was hard, I have to say, but I was in charge of the software and I'd say that's the easy part," said Erik Ciotlăuș.
The 6 young people were included in the "100 Youngsters for the Development of Romania" project, launched by Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania. The project brings together the most outstanding young people in our country, who have distinguished themselves through outstanding performance in education, culture, sport or innovation.
The new generation of eminence in our country will come together in the first catalogue of Romanian excellence "100 Youngsters for the Development of Romania".
The campaign aims to celebrate and promote talented and gifted young Romanians in their various fields, encouraging their outstanding performance and results.
Entries for the "100 Youngsters for Romania's Development" campaign are open until 1 September.
