The Scientific Senate of the Dan Voiculescucu Foundation for the Development of Romania, scientific partner of RO.aliment SHOW 2024, presents in Iași an innovative product for the food industry.

The Scientific Senate of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania is a scientific partner of RO.ALIMENT SHOW 2024, which is a reference event for the Romanian food industry. RO.ALIMENT SHOW 2024, currently in its eighth iteration, will be held in Iași from 23 to 25 September 2024. It will convene experts, researchers, authorities and academics from the food sector to examine prospective innovations and trends under the overarching theme: „Știința alimentelor în 2024 – avantaj competitiv prin tehnologie, calitate și sustenabilitate”.

At the RO.ALIMENT SHOW 2024, Dr. Eng. Bogdan Păcularu-Burada, a fellow of the Scientific Senate of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania, will present the preliminary findings of his study for the first time to representatives of the food industry. The title of the presentation is "Anti-ageing effects of flavonoids from plant extracts".

This pioneering research investigates the remarkable potential of flavonoids in not only combating the processes of ageing but also in promoting longevity. It offers new insights not only for the food industry but also for the public health sector. The preliminary results indicate a promising avenue for the development of enhanced bakery products enriched with bioactive compounds that offer tangible benefits for human health and the prevention of premature ageing.

A noteworthy feature of the RO.ALIMENT SHOW 2024 will be the presentation of water kefir, an innovative probiotic beverage that has been patented by the Scientific Senate. The distinctive water kefir is created through the fermentation of kefir grains in a solution comprising water, honey, and inulin, with the incorporation of dried figs at room temperature. This unique beverage exemplifies a synbiotic foodstuff, offering simultaneous probiotic and prebiotic benefits that bolster digestive well-being, making it a crucial component of a diet that is both nutritionally balanced and sustainable.

Over the years, The Scientific Senate of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania has developed a sustainable scientific partnership with RO.aliment SHOW, being a supporter of food research and innovation. The Senate promotes sustainable solutions and advanced technologies that are shaping the future of food and contributing to improving the quality of life.
