Olivia Oprea the only youth in Europe who performs classical singing. At the age of 15, the young soprano is conquering the big international stages and joins the "100 Youngsters for Romania's Development" campaign

At the tender age of 15, Olivia Oprea has become a prominent figure in the classical music world. Despite her youth, the gifted soprano has attracted the attention of leading educational institutions and has achieved notable recognition on the national and international stages. Recently, Olivia Oprea joined the campaign "100 Youngsters for Romania's Development," a nationwide initiative spearheaded by the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania.

Olivia's passion for opera was ignited at the tender age of two, when she first encountered classical music on television. This inaugural experience with classical music marked the beginning of a remarkable journey. Currently, Olivia is a student at the George Enescu National College of Music and is also pursuing studies at the renowned Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Olivia Oprea is the only child in Romania and in Europe to have achieved such a high level of classical singing at her age. No other student studying simultaneously at a university and college has achieved such outstanding results. Her journey serves as an inspiration to young musicians around the world and exemplifies the potential for extraordinary achievements through passion and hard work.

In the forthcoming academic year, Olivia will have the opportunity to pursue her studies at Purcell College, a highly esteemed institution in London. This is a notable accomplishment, particularly given that she has recently completed the ninth grade and will directly transition into the twelfth grade in the British educational system, which is equivalent to the eleventh grade in Romania. The college's administration has made an exception for Olivia, acknowledging her remarkable academic performance and exceptional talent.

In May, Olivia was honored with the Excellence in Classical Music Award at the Top Child Performance Gala, and in 2023 she was named London Young Musician of the Year Voice of the Year, and also received the Annual Maestro Vocal Performance Prize.

Her performances were not limited to the receipt of awards. Olivia's voice has been heard on prestigious stages, including the Bucharest National Opera, where she participated in the K-Zilla Festival, and the Romanian Athenaeum, where she celebrated Puccini's centenary. She also delighted audiences at the Italian Institute of Culture and at the Ion Dumitrescu Philharmonic in Râmnicu Vâlcea during the Young Talent Festival in June.

Olivia's schedule for this year is equally impressive. In July, she will sing at the Royal Academy of Music in London's New Talent Festival, and from August to September she will perform in Cavalleria Rusticana at Blackheath Halls Opera 2024. On December 11, Olivia will have the honor of singing at Oxford University as a special guest.

Olivia Oprea's musical contributions are a testament to her dedication and unrivaled talent. She has been included in the national campaign "100 Youngsters for Romania's Development," which recognizes her exceptional contribution to classical music. The '100 Youngsters for Romania's Development' campaign was initiated with the objective of fostering national unity and identity. It seeks to highlight the stories and achievements of Romania's most remarkable children and young people, who have achieved national and international recognition through their passion, dedication, and talent. The 100 Youngsters who have made the nation proud and distinguished themselves through outstanding performances will be included in the inaugural catalogue of Romanian excellence, to be launched by the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania at the end of this year.
