"The Benefits of Handwriting in the Age of Digital Education" is the latest event in the WEBDIDACTICA Educational 2023 conference series.

Modern society benefits from the advantages of technology, which helps us communicate much more quickly and easily, using the phone, computer and other digital means. However, research shows that handwriting is of major importance in developing crucial skills.
Benefits of handwriting
The educational experts invited to the conference support the importance of digitisation, but at the same time advocate practising handwriting.
"Neurocognitive development through handwriting at school age is a topic of major interest in recent research. Studies have shown that the physical and mental process of handwriting engages specific regions of the brain, stimulating neural connections and developing essential cognitive skills," said Cătălin Anghelache, Neuro Change Practitioner, Psychologies Romania Magazine, speaker at WEBDIDACTICA conference on 26 July.
According to him, through precise hand movements and fine coordination, children develop memory, abstract thinking, creativity and verbal expression.
"Handwriting also helps improve concentration, develop motor skills and organize information. These issues suggest that handwriting should not be neglected in favour of digital technology, as it plays a significant role in the global and neurocognitive development of school children," adds Cătălin Anghelache.
Despite the accelerated development of technology, handwriting is and must remain one of the basic forms of learning and education, given its undeniable benefits for cognitive development and stimulation of creativity.
