The Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania announces the start of the evaluation of the applicants and the designation of the 20 finalists of the national campaign "League of Exceptional Teachers". The evaluation committee is made up of specialists in the field of excellence in education and journalists who promote quality education:
• Monica Ghiurco, moderator of "Education in Power" TVR 2;
• Aimee D Albon, producer of "Education in Power" TVR 2;
• Mihai Morar - producer of Morning ZU and Fain&Simplu podcast;
• Marian Staș, education expert;
• Silvia Osman, PhD at SNSPA;
• Daniela Văduva, Director Fischer International;
• Psychologist Gabriela Maalouf, psychotherapist and NLP trainer for children and parents;
• experts in education of excellence, collaborators of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania.
The evaluation committee will select 20 teachers who give value to education in Romania and contribute to the formation of a new generation of excellence.
On 17 June public voting will start online at fundatiadanvoiculescu.rowhere current and former students, parents and community members will be able to choose their favourites, giving recognition to the teachers who inspired and guided them.
All teachers who qualify for the finals will be awarded according to the number of votes received. Prizes include educational camps in the summer of 2024, educational materials, Samsung tablets, Kindle readers or encyclopaedias.
The top three winners will receive merit scholarships of 30,000 lei, 20,000 lei and 10,000 lei for the next academic year.
The "League of Exceptional Teachers" provides a platform for teachers to share their success stories, awarded by the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania and presented to the general public. This national campaign aims to recognise and reward teachers who, through their work, contribute every day to the development of an educated Romania.
