Recently, the Bucharest Pupils' Gala was held, an initiative supported by the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania (FDVDR), together with Bucharest Municipal Council of Students.
The event awarded civic initiatives, projects developed and the involvement of pre-university students throughout the school year. The National Children's Palace played host yesterday to the first edition of a special event called "Bucharest Pupils' Gala".
The gala awarded prizes in categories such as:
- "Most Popular Pupil Council",
- "Best project from pupils for pupils" ,
- "Most Active Pupil Council",
- ”Sustainability”
- "Democratic citizenship".
Bucharest Pupils' Gala and the winners
- The award for "Most Active Pupil Council" was won by the Pupil Council of Cantemir Voda National High School, which boasted more than 5,000 hours of activity and six events;
- The award for "Most Popular Pupil School Council" went to "Ion Creanga" National High School;
- In the "Sustainability" category, a group of pupils from several high schools in Bucharest stood out for creating a "Thrift Palette" project that promotes sustainability and responsible consumerism among young people. The project also had a humanitarian side, as the donations received were redirected to a charitable cause;
- The award for 'Best Inclusion Project' went to 'Tommorow is a gift';
- The prize for the best "Democratic Citizenship" project was won by the Pupils' Council of the "Jean Monnet" High School with the EPAS - European Parliament Ambassador Schools project.
Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania awarded prizes consisting of scooters, books and diplomas. The award ceremony also included unique artistic moments, created by the students.
The Bucharest Municipal Council of Pupils is one of the educational partners of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania and represents more than 400,000 students, being the only structure representing all students in the state and private pre-university education system in the capital.
