How we can make our lives longer. The Scientific Senate of FDVDR, the only Romanian scientific organisation present at the most important event on longevity

The Scientific Senate of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania, as a member of the Healthy Longevity Medicine Society, is the only civil society representative from Romania participating in the 10th Aging Research and Drug Discovery conference in Copenhagen.

The conference, now in its 10th year, runs from 28 August to 1st of September 2023 and is hosted by the University of Copenhagen. The event will feature over 40 leading names in longevity research and industry such as David Sinclair (Harvard Medical School), Alexander Zavoronkov ( Insilico Medicine), Valter Longo ( School of Gerontology, Univ South California), Evelyne Bischof ( Healthy Longevity Medicine Society), Lisa Ireland (Longevity Society Foundation), James Kirkland, Professor at Mayo Clinic, Andrea Maier Director of the Center for Healthy Longevity University of Singapore, one of the world's leading longevity centres.

The first day of the conference was dedicated to longevity medicine and aimed at analysing the prospects and opportunities of future medicine. The host of the event was Prof. Andrea Maier, collaborator and speaker of the Longevity conferences organized by the FDVDR Scientific Senate. The following days will be dedicated to the development of anti-aging medication and dedicated biotechnology companies researching new molecules targeting the destruction of senescent cells, the major cause of body aging.

Longevity medicine addresses the young patient who can control the ageing process. The key to this new discipline is precision diagnosis in determining biological age, supplements and lifestyle.

Mission of the Scientific Senate, to spread longevity medicine

The Scientific Senate of FDVDR considers it important to participate in this major event in the field of longevity, mainly because of the first-hand access to information related to advances in research on ageing-targeted drugs. In recent years, the Scientific Senate has been trying to bring to the Romanian public a wealth of topical information related to this topic of concern to scientific society worldwide, thus contributing to the education on longevity medicine. The conferences organized under the title "Longevity" were attended by world-renowned specialists who shared with the interested Romanian public the latest discoveries in the field of longevity.
