The Campaign „Backpacks for Big Dreams Campaign” is an initiative to help talented children whose parents can't afford the school supplies their little ones need for the start of the new school year. It was initiated by the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania, in partnership with Idea Papel on the one hand and the Bucharest Municipal Council of Pupils on the other.
Dozens of gifted and talented children from the Joyo Foundation received backpacks during the first week of school.
" We thank the Dan Voiculescu Foundation very much for the generous donation of backpacks and school supplies made to underprivileged children at the Joyo Foundation. These are not just a material help, they represent a chance for education and a better future for less fortunate children. Such an initiative makes children very happy and contributes to their quality of life. We are very grateful for your support to the children!" says Adriana Constantinescu, executive director of Joyo Foundation.
At the same time, Lucian Cismaru, President of the Bucharest Municipal Council of Students, said: "This year we have set out to reach even more students who need our help in Bucharest, although very often the focus is on rural areas, we must not forget that there are gaps in Bucharest, there are students who need support and we help our colleagues to continue their studies and have a better educational path, regardless of their background".
„Backpacks for Big Dreams” Campaign
Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania launched the "Backpacks for Big Dreams" campaign before the start of school when 400 students from all over the country received a backpack fully equipped with school supplies. Because every gesture of solidarity counts for those in need, kind-hearted citizens sent to Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania the impressive stories of talented and well-performing children who deserve to enjoy decent conditions at the beginning of school.
