Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania launches, the "100 Youngsters for Romania's Development" Campaign, in the spirit of celebrating unity and national identity. The campaign aims to bring to the forefront the stories and achievements of the most outstanding children and young people in Romania who, through their passion, dedication and talent, have managed to make a name for themselves at national and international level. Whether we are talking about academic excellence, artistic performance, social involvement or innovation in various fields, these young people are true ambassadors of Romania's extraordinary potential.
The new generation of eminence in our country will be brought together in the first catalogue of Romanian excellence "100 Youngsters for Romania's Development". The campaign aims to celebrate and promote Romania's talented and gifted young people in their various fields, encouraging their outstanding performance and results. The 100 young people who make us proud to be Romanian and who have distinguished themselves through outstanding performance will be included in the first catalogue of Romanian excellence.
The 100 young people will be selected from the following categories:
- Education
- Sports
- Culture
- Innovation
The catalogue of Romanian excellence will include international Olympians, winners of various international and national competitions (gold, silver and bronze medals). The campaign will showcase inspirational role models, proudly illustrating the diversity of talent across the country. Each story will be living proof that Romania is a place where dreams can come true and where perseverance and talent can open doors to a bright future.
Campaign milestones:
Campaign Launch: 01 December 2023;
Registration: December 01, 2023 - December 31, 2024;
Evaluation: January 1 - February 28, 2025;
"Top 100 Youngsters for Romania's Development" Gala: March 2025
Entry criteria for the campaign:
- The campaign is dedicated to all Romanian children and young people aged between 5 and 35 living in Romania or abroad;
- Candidates are eligible if they complete the application form, attaching a presentation, which includes a personal characterisation and a list of achievements. The original and creative presentation must be accompanied by a photo, a list of recommendations from teachers or coaches and proof of performance through diplomas or medals;
- The entry of underage participants will be made by a parent, who will sign an agreement to this effect. Major participants will complete the agreement personally.
Applications will be reviewed by the FDVDR Education Excellence Specialists and the selection criteria are:
- Awards obtained in competitions (only those who have obtained 1st place);
- Prodigious activity in culture (exhibitions, sales of works, stage performances, online popularity for singers);
- Inventions and innovations registered with OSIM or which are analysed by the committee as having potential utility or originality, etc.;
- Winners of national and international sports competitions.
The campaign aims to strengthen the sense of belonging to a national community proud of its achievements, promote models of excellence and inspire future generations to follow their dreams and contribute to Romania's continued development.
Children and young people, who will be selected as a result of the campaign, will be included in the first catalogue of Romanian excellence "100 Youngsters for Romania's Development" and on 1 December 2024 they will be awarded at the "Romanian Excellence Gala".
By participating, each contestant declares that they agree and undertake to abide by the provisions and conditions of the campaign. By entering the campaign, each participant declares that they agree that the materials entered will be presented both online and offline and will be promoted by the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania through any available communication means. In this regard, the FDVDR has the right to use the images of the participants and their presentation in the campaign for the purpose of promotion and public communication. This includes, but is not limited to, incorporating them into promotional materials, publishing them on FDVDR websites, interviews, reports, broadcasting the presentations and related images through any other means of public communication.
By participating in the campaign and sending their personal data to the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania, participants agree that their data will be stored in the FDVDR database, processed and used in the future by the FDVDR to inform participants about new projects. At the express written request of the participants, FDVDR will no longer use their personal data.
