Romania's future doctors are writing the future of longevity: The Scientific Senate of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation awarded the most innovative idea at the International Congress of Medical Students

Romania's future doctors come up with ideas that could radically change the way we age. At the International Congress of Medical Students in Bucharest, The Scientific Senate of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania", as a scientific partner, awarded a prize to the most innovative solution to prolong healthy life. The event brought together brave projects ranging from mechanisms of longevity to revolutionary concepts in the medicine of the future, shaping the profile of a generation of physicians who see long-term health as a mission.

At the Innovation Fair, young participants were challenged to come up with bold and applicable solutions to prevent chronic diseases, increase quality of life and transform medicine through emerging technologies. Among the ideas presented were therapies based on messenger RNA coated by lipid nanoparticles, proposed as an innovative research direction in the treatment of some forms of cancer, as well as projects with direct applicability in medical education and preclinical practice.

After hours of presentations and judging, Alexia's work caught the jury's attention for its originality, impact and real potential for application in longevity science. The young woman has developed an intelligent dental simulator, a completely new project at international level, integrating, for the first time, temperature sensors providing real-time feedback. The system is connected to an app that shows students, with remarkable accuracy, what happens inside the tooth during procedures. The project has a dual purpose: it contributes both to the development of pre-clinical education of medical students and to the quality of medical care, with a long-term impact on patients' health.

For this idea, The Scientific Senate has awarded a €1,000 award, supporting young people's research and encouraging ideas that can shape medicine for decades to come.

"The Scientific Senate of The Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania is standing by the young people organizing this congress and we want to create a new generation of doctors who will implement all the new research in medicine 3.0.", said Tatiana Pașcovschi, Project Manager of The Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania.

Beyond the competition, The Scientific Senate was also present at the Scientific Fair with a number of its own projects that aroused the interest of participants. These included the "Longevity Map", a unique study mapping the areas in Romania where people live longer and healthier lives, as well as innovations in functional nutrition, such as bread with anti-aging effects, scientifically tested and analyzed.
