Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania launched the FDVDR courses yesterday, dedicated to gifted and talented children.
Children with special abilities need special attention, both intellectually and emotionally, in order to develop their full potential. That is why this autumn's FDVDR courses are dedicated to Romanian children with superior potential. Those who enrolled in this programme went through a pre-selection stage in which their abilities were tested, after which they were invited to participate in a series of courses specially designed for their level.
We are talking about the first step in the creation of Romania's first team of gifted children and young people, which the initiators of the concept have named Super Smart Team. Thus, children with high potential who enroll in FDVDR programs have the chance to be part of the best performing team of children and young people in the country and to participate for free in the best extracurricular educational programs organized by FDVDR.
The children selected for the Super Smart Team will participate in the Japanese Club where they will discover how easy it is to pronounce words in this foreign language, make conversation and learn fascinating facts about Japanese society and culture. The course will be given by teacher Silvia Pătrașcu, author of Japanese language courses.
The Personal Development course guides the teenager towards an assertive way of communicating their needs and actively listening to the needs of others, but will also help them to understand reactions and emotions. The course will be given by psychologist Gabriela Maalouf, psychotherapist and NLP trainer for children and parents, expert of the FDVDR Club of Excellence.
The Robotics and Programming course aims to explore creativity in the development of robotics projects and encourage interest in technology and innovation.
The Lifestyle Medicine course will be taught by a specialist from the Romanian Society of Lifestyle Medicine and comes with an innovative and essential educational initiative that aims to familiarize pupils with the basics of the 7 pillars of a healthy lifestyle - nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, substance avoidance, relationships and positive emotions. At the end of the course, each participant will have their own healthy lifestyle programme for themselves and their family.
